let me put you in the major key

"lipstick cherry all over the lens as she's falling"

Look what the postman brought me this morning:

How perfectly thrilling! Unfortunately, I have to wait 95 minutes for the battery to charge before I assault you all with pictures of my cat. I suppose I could do something constructive in that time, like some much needed reading (countdown to dissertation: 12 days left to write first draft. Progress status: 0 words) but I'd much rather watch This Morning. Especially as John Barrowman seems to have replaced the lovely Philip for this week. I had a rather comedy encounter with John Barrowman when I went to see A Few Good Men at the Haymarket last year. My friends wanted to stalk out the diminuative wonder that is Rob Lowe at the stage door and it seems like we weren't the only ones. Barrowman came out just before Lowe and upon sight of the heaving masses bellowed that we were all obstructing the fire exit and we would all get a 'piece of him' as it were. Ahem. Despite this, his performance as space omnisexual, Captain Jack thoroughly charms me and all is forgiven.

On a Doctor Who related note, I found this whilst pootling about on YouTube and it features my favourite Gent, Mark Gatiss (and nobody's favourite camp buffoon, David Walliams) This was one of three sketches which was written for the Doctor Who Night in 1999:

Mark Gatiss certainly does have a way with an Edwardian frock coat doesn't he, gentle readers? For this reason alone I would love to see him as the next Doctor. (Although as you know, I certainly have no objections to Tennant...)

According to my SiteMeter, I'm getting a lot of Google hits from people looking for Lily Allen. Especially people who have heard LDN on the Wireless. So for those kindred spirits, the song that has been burrowing its way into your head and that sounds like a ray of sunshine which features the lyric: "sun is in the sky, oh why oh why would I wanna be anywhere else?" is the fabulous LDN. According to her blog on her MySpace site, she has recorded the video for LDN which resulted in a high-larious porn/music video mix up. Go forth and fall in love.
